SEATTLE, April, 2006 -- Boeing announced that the FL Group, on behalf of Icelandair, and Icelandair have exercised purchase rights for two additional firm 787-8 Dreamliners. The airplanes will be delivered in 2012, two years after Icelandair takes delivery of its first two Dreamliners, which were ordered in February 2005. The airline, part of the Icelandair Group, continues to expand its long-haul route offering flights to and from Iceland in conjunction with its fleet-growth plan. The two airplanes have a value of approximately $290 million at list prices.

In-Flight Internet Is A "Must-Have"
Global air travellers prefer airlines that offer in-flight Internet connectivity, according to a survey released March 31 by Connexion by Boeing, a business unit of PATA member The Boeing Company.
In an effort to track service trends, Connexion by Boeing teamed with Burke Research to conduct a global bi-annual study on customer satisfaction and loyalty. The latest survey shows that in-flight Internet is changing traveller behaviour:
** 83% of those surveyed said that the availability of the Connexion by Boeing service will have an impact on future travel plans and their choice of airline carrier
** 94% said they plan to use the service again on a future flight
** 92% said they would recommend the service to others.

SEATTLE, March 31, 2006 - Boeing yesterday delivered three new Next-Generation 737-800s to European carrier Hapagfly in one day. Hapagfly, based in Hannover Langenhagen, Germany, is a subsidiary of the TUI Group. The deliveries are part of a milestone order for 10 Boeing 737s placed by the TUI Group for Hapagfly in late 2004. The new airplanes are part of the carrier's fleet standardization plans, which include the replacement of its aging A310s with the advanced-technology 737-800. Hapagfly took delivery of an earlier 737-800 from the same order on March 25, totaling four deliveries in one week. The new 737s are fitted with Blended Winglets, which reduce aerodynamic drag, improve fuel efficiency and increase range. The Boeing 737 is the world's most popular jet airplane, with more than 6,100 sold worldwide.

Turkish Airlines start operations on Riga
Turkish Airlines will start operations on Riga on 14 April. There will be 3 weekly flights.
Turkish Airlines will operate morning flights from Istanbul to Riga on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with departure Istanbul at 10.45 and arrival Riga at 13.45. Return flights from Riga to Istanbul at 14.45 with arrival at 17.45. Turkish Airlines will use Airbus 320 on the flights.
airBaltic also operates 3 weekly flights from Istanbul to Riga. There are thus daily flights except Mondays on the Istanbul - Riga.

Latvian airline airBaltic will open two new routes this May. According to the airline’s plan, it will reopen domestic flights to Liepaja and begin direct flights to the Israeli city, Tel Aviv, bringing the total number of routes opened this spring to twelve.
As has already been reported, flights will also be opened from Riga to six other destinations: Baku, Bergen, Düsseldorf, Tbilisi, Simferopol and Warsaw. From Vilnius, flights will open to Budapest, Düsseldorf, Stockholm and Warsaw.
Malev signs with American Airlines
Malev Hungarian Airlines recently agreed a commercial contract with US carrier American Airlines, thus linking the Malev network to a range of American Airlines flights both in Europe, North America and the Middle East. Read more.
The number of foreign tourists visiting Turkey jumped 20,4 percent year-on-year in 2005 to 21,1 million. After this record breaking year, the country expects an increase in the number of visitors in 2006 where the target is 24 million. Turkey’s target is to reach 30 million tourists in the year 2010.
Among 21,1 million tourist that Turkey hosted in 2005, nearly 4,24 million came from Germany, followed by Russia with 1,86 million and UK with 1,76 million.

Visitors arriving by air route to Nepal during March 2006 recorded 26.9% growth compared to the same month of last year. 25,553 international visitors comprising of 28% Indian and 72% non-Indian entered Nepal during the month. Business travel still dominated by men
Men are still travelling almost double the distance than women for business, according to new research out from Barclaycard Business. Women currently travel on average 335 miles a week whilst their male counterparts cover 662 miles. Amadeus announced that it has entered into an exclusive partnership with 10Best to provide its travel agent customers with top-rated destination information and bookable content. The partnership enables Amadeus to integrate 10Best’s content into the Amadeus Selling Platform (Vista) desktop, offering agents in the U.S. and Canada the ability to provide their customers with objective recommendations for local travel and leisure options and bookable events tailored by destination.

EURAM : Vanaf 20 april, al de vouchers ‘on line’ met het logo van het agentschap
Vanaf 20 april 2006 voorziet EURAM om al haar vouchers (hotels, diensten en huurwagens) ‘on line’ te laten printen. Bovendien kunnen agentschappen met een PartnerPlus-overeenkomst de vouchers printen met hun eigen logo. Veel aandacht is geschonken aan lay-out en duidelijkheid, zodat de vouchers eenduidig zijn naar de leverancier en professioneel overkomen naar de klant. Het reisbureau kan zelf zeer gemakkelijk zijn logo inladen, zonder dat daar enige technische kennis voor nodig is.
“Deze nieuwe ontwikkelingen kaderen in ons strategisch partnerschap met het reisbureau.

Projectontwikkelaar Mainland had opdracht gekregen een geheel nieuw pand te bouwen voor het Europese hoofdkantoor.
