SN Brussels Airlines welcomes German EU Presidency with extra Berlin Tempelhof flights
Brussels, 1 December 2006 - With the German EU presidency starting in 2007, SN Brussels Airlines anticipates passenger growth on the Brussels-Berlin route and is adding extra seat capacity and flights. As from January SN Brussels Airlines will operate five daily frequencies between the European capital and the convenient Berlin Tempelhof city airport. Virgin Express continues its daily service to Berlin Schoenefeld.
Germany will take up the Presidency of the European Council from January to June 2007. This will result in a traffic growth between the German capital Berlin and the EU capital Brussels.
SN Brussels Airlines is already market leader on the route both in terms of passengers and seat offer and is now adding an extra 20 pct. seats with a fifth daily flight between Brussels Airport and the centrally located and very convenient Tempelhof Flughafen. The new schedule will come into effect on Monday the 8th of January 2007.
SN Brussels Airlines, awarded several times for its punctuality and service, will now offer departures in both directions almost every 2,5 hours between early in the morning and the early evening. On Sundays a new evening flight is scheduled that perfectly meets the needs of city trippers and expat work commuters wanting to spend an entire weekend in Brussels or Berlin. All flights are operated on our comfortable AVRO RJ Aircraft.
As well as the SN Brussels Airlines Tempelhof service, sister company Virgin Express also operates a daily Brussels-Berlin Schoenefeld evening service.
Thanks to this extra flight frequency and capacity our Aviation Group offers by far the best travel opportunities between Brussels and Berlin, says Executive Vice President Sales & Marketing Ursula Silling. Our flight offer to and from Berlin Tempelhof and Schoenefeld is ideal for time sensitive travellers as well as for passengers travelling for leisure. As the airline based in the European capital we have to meet the expectations of the thousands and thousands EU employees and EU related business travellers. These extra flights are another example of how we meet the needs of our passengers.
The marriage between SN Brussels Airlines and Virgin Express has resulted in a new generation airline called Brussels Airlines. The first Brussels Airlines flight will take to the skies on the 25 March 2007. From this date onwards all 6 daily flights between Brussels and Berlin Tempelhof and Schoenefeld will be operated by Brussels Airlines. Fares start as from 49 euro one way, taxes included (all info on www.brusselsairlines.com).
