TAM Begin Second Daily Flight to Santiago (Chile) in January
SAO PAULO, Brazil, Nov. 6 -- TAM S.A., Brazil's largest airline company, will offer a second daily flight to Santiago, Chile, beginning January 2, 2007. The new flight will operate at night and fly from Galeao Airport (Rio de Janeiro), with one stop in Guarulhos Airport (Sao Paulo). The operation of this flight aims to fulfill increasing demand for the international route.
The new flight to Santiago will be operated with the modern Airbus A320. The aircraft will be dual-seat class (Economy and Business) and will have capacity to transport up to 156 passengers.
TAM will offer Business Class passengers its VIP room at Galeao, Guarulhos and Santiago airports, as well as courtesy transfer in private car.

New airplane leased to Kenya Airways
SEATTLE, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Boeing (NYSE:BA) has delivered the first of 30 Next-Generation 737s ordered by Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise (SALE), the leading Asia-based aircraft leasing company. The new airplane, a 737-800, will go into revenue service with Kenya Airways and is the first 737-800 to join Kenya's fleet, which currently includes four 737-700s.
The new airplane is the first direct delivery from Boeing to SALE of a 737, although the lessor's portfolio already includes Next-Generation 737s purchased from airlines. SALE ordered the airplane in May 2005 and will continue to take delivery of 737s through the end of 2010.

Boeing Delivers Buraq Air's 1st 737-800
SEATTLE, Oct. 30, 2006 -- Boeing has delivered the first of three 737-800s ordered by Buraq Air, Libya's first private airline. The airline was founded by a group of pilots in 2000 and began operations in 2001. Buraq Air's newest fleet addition arrived at the airline's home base in Tripoli today after departing Boeing Field on Saturday. Buraq Air's second 737-800 is scheduled for delivery next month.

The Austrian Airlines Group will become the first European airline to be granted the right to operate scheduled services into Iraq in the near future. Preparations are now well underway to fly to the city of Erbil in Northern Iraq from 11 December 2006. The service will operate twice a week out of Vienna. The Austrian Airlines Group will fly its scheduled route to Erbil using an Airbus A319. Read more.

Significant expansion in cargo services and market leadership to Ukraine
To keep pace with the increasing demand for cargo capacity to Ukraine, Austrian Cargo will further increase the number of all-cargo flights it provides to Kiev. From today a fifth weekly flight is added to the four already on schedule. In future daily services except on Tuesdays and Thursdays will offer 100 tonns and 400 cubic metres of cargo space every week. The all-cargo service is provided in cooperation with Ukraine International Airlines (UIA). In an Extraordinary Meeting held on 1 November 2006, the Supervisory Board of Austrian Airlines AG has approved the proposal of the Board of Management to cut the Airbus A330 fleet, which consists of four long-haul aircraft, starting in 2007. In prior agreement with the Committee of the Supervisory Board, the Board of Management submitted the proposal to accelerate further the optimisation of the Austrian Group within the scope of current budget preparations and the amendment of the medium-term corporate plan in an effort to drive forward a consistent and positive results trend. New Safety Regulations For Hand Luggage As Of November 6th 2006
Liquids, sprays and gels are permitted in hand luggage in limited quantity
As of 6 November 2006, new safety regulations for hand luggage apply to all departures and onward flights from EU airports as well as Iceland, Norway and Switzerland in order to meet the requirements of the revised, EU-wide Security Regulation. Liquids, gels and sprays not exceeding 100 ml per container are allowed to be carried in the hand luggage. These items must be packed all together in one transparent, re-sealable plastic bag with a maximum one litre capacity. One bag is permitted per person. The exceptions are baby food (if children are also travelling), special dietary requirements (e.g. for medical purposes) and medication that passengers need during the flight. For medicines and dietary products a medical confirmation or a prescription have to be carried along. Read more.

Royal Caribbean Reports Third Quarter 2006 Earnings
Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. has announced net income for the third quarter of 2006 of $345.4 million, or $1.63 per share, compared to net income of $374.7 million, or $1.64 per share, for the third quarter of 2005. The third quarter of 2005 includes a net gain of $44.2 million, or $0.19 per share, related to the redemption of the company's investment in First Choice Holidays PLC. Revenues for the third quarter of 2006 increased to $1.6 billion from revenues of $1.5 billion in the third quarter of 2005.

Since Belgium participates in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), most Belgian citizens (and citizens of most countries that also participate in the Visa Waiver Program) do not need a visa to enter the United States, only a valid machine-readable passport is required, if the purpose of the trip is for business, tourism or transit and does not exceed 90 days.

What changes as of Wednesday, November 1, 2006 ?
Visitors to the United States who need non-immigrant visas (tourists and visitors staying longer than 90 days, students participating in exchange programs, journalists, etc…) will be required to fill out their visa applications online. U.S. embassies will only accept completed online application forms known as the Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF). Handwritten or typed application forms will no longer be accepted. The online completed application form must be printed and submitted at the embassy at the moment of the visa interview. NATO almost makes Riga’s Christmas Market top secret
It is still a little NATO secret when Riga’s traditional Christmas market will begin this year.
According to some sources the Annual Christmas market in the Dom Square in Riga will take place from the 3rd to the 26th of December. Tourist hungry stall holders are holding their breath to see if the market will open a week earlier, on the 26th of November, to catch the high profile NATO Summit visitors. On the other hand, the authorities are waiting to be given an all clear security rating. Even the usually well-connected Inspiration Riga spies in high places were not able to confirm whether we would be able to snatch a glimpse of a President or two sneaking a gluwein and gingerbread chaser between Summit sessions in the centre of Riga! Either way, almost a hundred stalls will sell seasonal food, decorations, novelties and handcrafts. Pundits predict that traditional ornamental mittens will fetch premium prices due to the NATO summit having commissioned 4500 pairs of these valuable items for VIP gifts!

06 Nov 06 -- China, with a population of roughly 1.3 billion people, is undergoing a sustained economic growth of 9% per year. This has transformed the world market for raw materials and the supply of consumer goods. With 20% of the world’s population now becoming part of the global economy, tourism destinations have rushed to sign “Approved Destination Status” (ADS) agreements with the Chinese authorities that allow them to receive Chinese leisure tourist travel groups. In Japan, the tourists followed the export of manufactured goods throughout the sixties and seventies. Corporate and leisure travellers now have an even greater choice of city, secondary city and countryside locations to enable them to select the perfect property to meet their travel needs. The new hotels are distributed to off- and online travel agencies connected to Amadeus, including Opodo and to corporate travellers via Amadeus e-Travel Management.
Amadeus has incorporated hotel content from large hotel consolidators this year, like hotel.de announced earlier this year.
