JAL to Code Share with Galaxy - New Domestic Cargo Airline
Tokyo October 12, 2006: Japan Airlines and Galaxy Airlines, a new Japanese domestic cargo airline, today filed a plan to operate a code share agreement, subject to the approval of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation.
From November 7, 2006 JAL will code share on Galaxy’s flights between Tokyo’s Haneda Airport and Kitakyushu Airport in northern Kyushu and between Haneda and Naha, Okinawa. JAL hopes that the new code share will help expand its share of the domestic cargo market with these late night cargo flights.

Air One contracts with AVIAREPS
The Airline Management Company represents the Italian private carrier in the markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland
The Italian private carrier Air One has signed the contracts with AVIAREPS and like this the airline becomes new client of one of the world’s leading airline management companies. With immediate effect AVIAREPS will take over all sales & marketing activities for the Italian airline in the markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.  At the same time Air One expands its international network with a new connection between Milan/Linate and Berlin/Tegel. The new service will start on October 29th.
Air One, based in Rome, has started scheduled flights already in 1995 with a first route between Rome/Fiumicino and Milan/Linate. Today the airline offers 23 domestic flights as well as international destinations like Athens and Copenhagen. From the end of October Milan–Berlin will be added to the international route map of Air One. With 30 aircrafts, Boeing B737 and Airbus A320, the Italian private carrier operates 1400 flights per week. Besides, Air One is also partner of Lufthansa / Miles & More. In 2005 5.3 Million passengers flew with the private carrier.

Northwest Airlines reports September Traffic
EAGAN, Minn. -- (October 6, 2006) - Northwest Airlines today announced a September consolidated (mainline and regional) load factor of 81.3 percent, 1.3 points above September 2005. Northwest reported a mainline load factor of 82.2 percent, 1.2 points above September 2005.
In September 2006, Northwest and Northwest Airlink regional carriers flew 6.17 billion consolidated revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 7.58 billion consolidated available seat miles (ASMs), a traffic decrease of 5.5 percent and a capacity decrease of 7.1 percent versus September 2005.
Northwest flew 5.75 billion mainline revenue passenger miles and 6.99 billion mainline available seat miles in September 2006, a traffic decrease of 4.2 percent and a capacity decrease of 5.6 percent versus September 2005.

KLM's New Delftware miniature N° 87. - Peperhuis in Enkhuizen
AMSTELVEEN, October 9, 2006 - KLM Royal Dutch Airlines celebrated its 87th anniversary in true tradition on October 7, 2006, with the presentation of a new Delftware miniature. The Delftware miniatures are replicas of Dutch historical buildings. The Peperhuis (Pepper House) on the Wierdijk in Enkhuizen was selected as the 87th miniature. Mr. Rob van Hijfte,Vice President Cabin Inflight Management, officially presented the first copy of the new house to Mr. Erik Schilp, managing director of the Zuiderzee Museum. Read more.



KLM to Reduce Fuel Surcharge
AMSTELVEEN, October 11, 2006 - In response to decreasing fuel prices, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will reduce its fuel surcharge by EUR 5 per stretch on all intercontinental flights and by EUR 1 per stretch on all intra-European flights.
This reduction is in addition to the reduction of September 28 and will apply to tickets issued as of October 12, 2006.
In so doing, KLM is upholding its policy of adjusting the fuel surcharge if the oil (barrel) price rises above or drops below a certain level for more than 30 consecutive days. This also ties in with KLM's marketing proposition of being a reliable airline.



KLM Opens Rehabilitation Center For Disabled Children On Sumatra
AMSTELVEEN/ MEDAN, October 11, 2006 - KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has opened a rehabilitation center for disabled children in Medan on the island of Sumatra. The center accommodates around 100 children, who will be offered physiotherapy and remedial therapy at the center. The children are also given social guidance in reintegrating into society. Air France Reduces Its Fuel Surcharge
As the price of the barrel has remained below 65 dollars for 30 consecutive days, Air France, as promised, is withdrawing its most recent fuel surcharge increase, i.e. :
• 1 euro on domestic flights
• 2 euros on medium-haul flights
• 7 euros on long-haul flights
This decrease is valid on tickets issued in France as from 6 October 2006.

TAM Reaches 51.7% Domestic and 60.0% International Market Share
SAO PAULO, Brazil, Oct. 10 -- TAM S.A., Brazil's largest airline company, announces operating data for September 2006 as disclosed today by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC). According to ANAC, TAM registered 35.4% growth in domestic RPK (demand) compared to the same period last year, and a 28.6% increase in domestic ASK (supply). In September, market demand increased by 6.9% and market supply increased by 4.9%. In the international market, TAM registered 36.6% growth in RPK and 37.7% in ASK compared to September 2005.



EU and US Reach Agreement on the Continued Use of Passenger Name Record (PNR) Data
WASHINGTON, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The EU and the United States completed negotiations today on an interim Agreement on the processing and transfer of passenger name record (PNR) data by air carriers to the US Administration. The interim Agreement, which will be submitted for approval by the EU Council as soon as possible, provides legal certainty by replacing the Agreement of May 2004 between the European Community and the US, following the Court of Justice of the European Communities judgment of 30 May 2006.

Costa Cruises signs deal with Italian football team
Leading European cruise company Costa Cruises has sealed a deal to sponsor Naples football club – Napoli Calcio – for the 2006/07 season. The sponsorship deal kicked off a week ago when Naples played its first match at home to Treviso at the San Paolo stadium winning 4-2.
The sponsorship deal is built on Costa’s deep local roots and long tradition of activity in Campania, where the Company has had a presence since the 1950s. Naples is a port of huge significance to Costa Cruises; some seven of the Company’s 11 ships will make stopovers here this year, bringing around 200,000 passengers to the region.

TUI sells Wolf subsidiary to CENTROTEC Sustainable
TUI AG has sold its 80-percent share in Wolf GmbH to CENTROTEC Sustainable AG, Brilon, Germany. The selling price was not disclosed.  The transaction has been finalised on 5 October 2006. As previously announced TUI has now disposed of its last industrial holding and has so completed the restructuring of the Group by turning its focus completely on tourism and shipping. It is intended for Wolf to continue within the CENTROTEC group as an independent company with its own brand.
