Air Canada appoints AVIAREPS – Airline Center España in Spain
The Canadian carrier concludes an agreement with AVIAREPS for the Spanish market

December 14, 2006 -- Air Canada, the national carrier of Canada, has appointed Airline Center España S.L. as its new representative in Spain from the 1st of January 2007 on. With this appointment, the subsidiary of AVIAREPS, located in the centre of Madrid, will represent Air Canada in all aspects of Air Canada’s passenger sales business in the Spanish market. With this agreement, the airline expands its relationship with AVIAREPS to include a further market, as it already appointed AVIAREPS as its representative in Italy and Russia in recent months, and in Austria two years ago.
Air Canada is one of the world’s leading airline companies, headquartered in Montreal. With a fleet of more than 300 aircrafts the carrier operates scheduled and charter flights to over 150 destinations on all five continents as well as vacation packages to over 90 destinations. TAM Receives New Airbus A320
SAO PAULO, Brazil, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TAM S.A. has received another Airbus aircraft A320 that starts operating this week. This is the 14th Airbus A320/319 family incorporated this year into TAM's fleet. Also, a Fokker 100 has been returned, maintaining the total fleet at 94 aircraft, of which 73 are Airbus models -- 14 A319, 49 A320, and 10 A330 -- plus 21 F100. TAM expects its fleet to achieve 96 airplanes at the end of 2006.
The new A320 aircraft will fly domestic routes as well as routes throughout South America.

ATA Predicts High Volume of Passengers This Winter Holiday Season
WASHINGTON, Dec. 8 -- The Air Transport Association of America (ATA), the industry trade organization representing leading U.S. airlines, is forecasting that approximately 42 million passengers* will travel globally on U.S. airlines during the 2006 winter holiday season for the 21-day period from Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, through Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007 -- an estimated increase of 2.4 percent compared to the same 21-day period a year earlier.
The nation's airlines expect average load factors to exceed 80 percent and are projecting the busiest days to be Thursday, Dec. 21 (approximately 2.3 million passengers), Friday, Dec. 22 (approximately 2.2 million passengers) and Tuesday, Dec. 26 (approximately 2.2 million passengers).

SEATTLE, Dec. 06, 2006 -- UK-based carrier and integrated-tour operator First Choice Airways has ordered an additional two Boeing [NYSE: BA] 787-8 Dreamliners with deliveries beginning in 2011.

KLM Launches Bluetooth Trial al Schiphol
AMSTELVEEN, December 7, 2006 - KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has launched a trial at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol involving the transmission of messages to travelers using Bluetooth technology. Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communication platform for portable devices such as mobile phones and electronic organizers.
