The Jungfrau Region, in the heart of the beautiful Bernese Oberland, stretches a mere 18 km from the “capital” Interlaken to the Jungfrau massif yet boasts other such world-renowned resorts as Grindelwald, Wengen and Mürren. The Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau dominate the landscape and the notorious Eiger North Wall has written mountaineering history. The region is so compact and the Jungfrau Railways Pass the clever way to travel!
 
Top Ticket
The Jungfrau Railways Pass a top ticket,  the ideal way to explore this remarkable region. It entitles the holder to six consecutive days of unlimited travel on the entire Jungfrau Railways network at just CHF 190 for adults and CHF 140 for holders of a Half-Fare Card / Swiss Pass / Swiss Card. Children travel free with a Junior Card. The Jungfrau Railways Pass is on sale from 1 May to 31 October at local hotels, camp sites, tourism offices and all stations of Jungfrau Railways. It covers the following services:
 
The Jungfrau Railway, built between 1896 and 1912, from Kleine Scheidegg (2061m) to the Jungfraujoch–Top of Europe at 3454m, Europe’s highest-altitude railway station. An eternal winter wonderland, with numerous attractions including the Ice palace and Sphinx observation building. The highlight of any visit to Switzerland! The Jungfrau Railways Pass entitles the holder to travel the section from the Eiger Glacier Station to the Jungfraujoch–Top of Europe at the reduced rate of CHF 48. Few guests can resist this tempting offer!
 
The Wengernalp Railway, built in 1893, Switzerland’s longest cogwheel railway (19km) running to Kleine Scheidegg from Grindelwald along the foot of the Eiger North Wall or from Lauterbrunnen via traffic-free Wengen. Kleine Scheidegg is the departure point for the Jungfrau Railway to the Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe and the starting point for a host of wonderful hikes.
 
The Schynige Platte Railway opened in 1893, combines railway romance with mountain majesty! One of Switzerland’s oldest railways, it has been lovingly maintained and is still in daily operation with original rolling stock! An He 2/2 locomotive from 1913 and two open passenger carriages were restored to their original colours last winter and are now on track in good weather. A rare railway gem and an authentic sightseeing attraction! The nostalgic and leisurely trip from Wilderswil to the Schynige Platte summit (1967m) affords stunning views of Lakes Thun and Brienz and the snow-covered summits of the Eiger Mönch & Jungfrau. Spectacular walks for families and more experienced mountain hikers, including the popular 6.5hr classic high-Alpine trail from Schynige Platte to Grindelwald First. Schynige Platte  is a natural paradise, famous for its unique Botanical Alpine Garden with 600 different species of plants and a LOWA hiking-boot test centre.
 
The Harder Railway, a funicular opened in 1908 and still going strong! The tiny red carriages climb the 1.4 km track from the bottom station close to Interlaken Ost railway station to the Harder Kulm (1322m) and a breathtaking bird’s-eye view of Interlaken, Lake Brienz, Lake Thun and the Jungfrau Region. Great hiking country!
 
The Bernese Oberland Railway has been carrying visitors comfortably through some of Switzerland’s loveliest landscape to glorious Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen – the Valley of Waterfalls - in all four seasons since 1893.
 
The Grindelwald-First Aerial Cableway, with its 6-seater gondolas, carries passengers from the famous glacier village up to First, famous for its spectacular views and splendid hikes. The easy one-hour hike to lake Bachalpsee is particularly popular.
 
The Lauterbrunnen–Mürren Mountain Railway opened in 1891.The Lauterbrunnen-Grütschalp funicular section ceased operating on 23 April 2006 and will be replaced by an aerial cableway now under construction. This is set to open on 10 December 2006. Meanwhile passengers to Mürren (1634m) travel to Stechelberg by postbus to board the Schilthorn Aerial Cableway. Please note: this section is not covered by the Jungfrau Railways Pass The Mürren Railway is running a half-hourly service from Mürren–Winteregg–Grütschalp.
 
The Jungfrau Railways Pass now covers the Pfingstegg Aerial Cableway in Grindelwald and the bus from Grindelwald to Grosse Scheidegg and Bussalp. All three destinations offer superb views and are starting points for happy hiking.
 
All our destinations are spectacular and safe, with excellent mountain restaurants an added attraction. All hiking paths are well-kept and well-marked but please remember that good hiking boots and warm, waterproof clothing are absolutely essential.
