July 2006
In July, the number of revenue passenger kilometres sold on scheduled services (RPK) declined compared to the previous year, by -3.1 %. The availability was expanded slightly by 0.1 % measured in available seat kilometres (ASK). At 78.3 %, the load factor on scheduled services was - 2.6 percentage points below the figure for last year. Inspite the decrease in passenger kilometers and load factor the Austrian Airlines Group achieved an increase in scheduled passengers of 4,3 %, because the Group performed quite well in its short- and mediumhaul focus markets, featuring her strategic stronghold, but remained behind expectations in the longhaul segment in July 2006. Therefore the optimization of the longhaul route-portfolio has been initiated together with country specific marketing promotions. Based on the newly implemented traffic-flow management as of April, slightly increasing yields are experienced.

The Austrian Airlines Group carried approximately 851,000 passengers on its scheduled flights in July, an increase of 4.3 % compared to July 2005. The Austrian Airlines Group again reported an increase, with total growth in the number of passengers of 2.3 % compared to July 2005. A total of 1.2 million passengers were carried on scheduled and charter services.
