Tintin's 100th Birthday in 2007
Well it's not actually Tintin's, but rather the 100th Anniversary of the birth of his creator, Georges Remi or Hergé (his initials backwards –RG – pronounced with a French accent!) as he is popularly known.
2007 will see an international celebration with exhibitions & events taking place all over the world, and naturally in his home city of Brussels as well. The Anniversary will start on 10 January, the day of his Birthday, with the unveiling of a giant fresco at Brussels South Station. In March a major exhibition, Hergé & Art will open at the Fine Arts Museum. For more info on this and the rest of the celebrations:
www.tintin.com/007
Hergé and his work are definitely more alive today than ever!

The world of Franquin, 27 October 2006 – 15 April 2007
After its enormous success in Paris, this exhibition comes home to Brussels in the incomparable setting of Autoworld.
André Franquin is another giant, alongside Tintin's Hergé, in the comic strip world of the second half of the 20th century. His major creations include Gaston Lagaffe, and Marsupilami, as well as many other contributions to this very Belgian art form. In addition to 200 original drawings, the exhibition will display a whole range of artefacts connected with his characters, including their cars and other more bizarre forms of transport!
And there's much more……
