Brussels Airport, 15 March 2007 - As from the new summer season, which starts in a few days, Brussels Airport serves a vast network of direct low-fare destinations. At Brussels Airport travellers can choose between 120 low-fare destinations for a city-break or a holiday in the sun.
For most travellers the news about the extended low-fare offer from Brussels Airport may come as a surprise. Many people mistakenly associate low-fare flights with far-off small airports that are difficult to reach. This explains why many passengers are surprised to find that an airport with a profile like ours at the same time serves a vast network of low-fare destinations. The fact that Brussels Airport since a few years ranks among the best airports in Europe in terms of quality (first in the ACI category Best Airport in Europe 2005, second in the ACI category Best Airport in Europe 2006, ACI Airport People Award for 2006) in no way has lessened the airport's efforts to provide an attractive flight offer to its passengers. We strive to provide our customers with the best service in Europe while at the same time being a champion of low-fare.
The low-fare market segment offers the best passenger growth potential, CEO Wilfried Van Assche explains. The far-reaching efforts by Brussels Airlines to introduce a special low-fare product respond to this demand. Even hard-core low-fare companies such as easyJet and Sky Europe increasingly begin to find their way to big international airports such as Brussels Airport. Low-fare is mistakenly associated with the less attractive product of niche carriers. The traveller today is looking for a quality product at a keen price. We serve three times as many low-fare destinations than all other Belgian airports put together, often with a choice of several flights a day per destination. Today, for practically any destination in Europe it is cheapest to fly from Brussels Airport.
Cheaper than flying from other airports, cheaper than travelling by train, even cheaper than going by car.
Brussels Airport does not just leave it up to the airlines themselves to promote these low-fare flights. For the first time the airport launches its own low-fare campaign. An extensive poster campaign at the airport and the Brussels Airport website refer to a new brochure in which passengers will find an overview of cheap destinations that are served directly from Brussels Airport.
The brochure in annexe gives an overview of: http://www.brusselsairport.be/en/lowfare
o 120 destinations for less than 100 euros

o of which 83 destinations for less than 50 euros
