The Air France 2006 Summer Schedule
For the summer 2006 season, the Air France Group will pursue its profitable growth strategy. Seat capacity (available seat-km) will grow by 5.6% compared with summer 2005 with a 6% increase on the long-haul network, a 6.3% increase on the international medium-haul network and a 1.1% increase on domestic routes.
The long-haul schedule
This summer, Air France will continue to expand capacity on its most buoyant markets, in particular Asia (up 11.4%), Latin America (up 5.5 %) and the Middle East (up 19.7%). Air France will also be developing its presence in Africa (up 11%) and on its oil, gas and mining routes.
These increases in capacity are a result of additional frequencies and the introduction of larger aircraft.
On routes to China, the Air France KLM Group will be offering a fifth destination, Chengdu, operated twice weekly by KLM from Amsterdam. Capacity will increase on flights to Beijing with the arrival of the three-class B777-300ER. There will be a second daily flight to Hong Kong* and Shanghai (ten weekly frequencies to both these destinations), with services to Shanghai supplemented by China Eastern's daily flight. The Paris - Guangzhou service will be reorganized, with Air France and China Southern both offering three weekly flights to this destination. This summer Air France will be operating 47 weekly services between Paris and China.
Since this winter the Group has been offering customers five destinations in India with the launch of five weekly flights to Bangalore from Paris and three weekly flights to Hyderabad from Amsterdam. These are in addition to the daily services to Mumbai, Delhi and Madras.
Air France KLM now offers 36 weekly flights to India.
On routes to South Africa and Brazil, Air France will be continuing its twice-daily services launched this winter to Johannesburg and Sao Paulo (ten weekly flights).
On our Gulf routes, which are mostly used by our oil and gas industry customers, many new initiatives will be launched.
Air France will be starting a second daily flight to Houston.
There will be daily flights to Teheran, and we hope to obtain traffic rights to also have a daily service to Riyadh. Frequencies will also be increased to Dubai (13/7) and our Dedicate network routes: Malabo (4/7), Nouakchott (6/7) and N'Djamena (5/7).

Delta will operate three of the four daily flights between Paris and Atlanta, and will suspend one daily flight between Paris and New York, whereas Air France will increase capacity by operating one of the six daily flights by B747-400. The use of larger aircraft and an improved schedule will therefore boost capacity.
Air France will be improving services to Seoul, in cooperation with Korean Airlines, thanks to the introduction of the B777-300.
The second frequency operated by Air France to Mexico City will become daily (14/7, to which the 7/7 operated by Aeromexico will be added).
New aircraft on routes to the French Caribbean.
Starting in June, flights to Fort de France and Pointe à Pitre will be operated by new aircraft: B777-300ERs with a unique cabin layout for these destinations. These aircraft will be introduced progressively from June to August 2006. They will replace the last B747-300s, to be retired from the Air France fleet.
The international medium-haul schedule
Growth will mainly focus on Eastern Europe (up 9.2%) and the Mediterranean basin (up 6.5% in Southern Europe and up 22.7% in North Africa).
Three new destinations will be added to Air France's medium-haul network this summer:
o Yerevan in Armenia, with three weekly flights operated by an Air France A320;
o Leipzig in Germany, with two daily flights operated by Régional;
o Katowice in Poland, with three weekly flights operated by Brit Air.
Air France will be adding a second daily flight to Zagreb (flights operated by Régional) and to Kiev.
The Paris - Algiers route, which already has two daily flights from Paris-Orly, will be supplemented by a daily departure from Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
There will be more services to Athens (five daily flights) and to Tel Aviv (two daily flights).
Inversely, the Nantes-London Gatwick route will be suspended.
Continued synergies between Air France and KLM, especially on routes between France and the Netherlands.
Since this winter, there have been flights to Eindhoven from Paris-CDG, chartered from Airlinair. The Lyon - Amsterdam and Bordeaux - Amsterdam routes will now be entirely operated by KLM, whereas Régional will operate the Strasbourg - Amsterdam service.
Flights from Paris to Billund will now be operated by KLM via Amsterdam.
The domestic schedule
Capacity will remain stable (up 1.1% in ASK) on the domestic network. There will be very few changes, as the number of frequencies will remain the same as in summer 2005, but there will be some aircraft changes.
There will be increased capacity on routes between Paris-CDG and the French provinces, notably Brest and Clermont-Ferrand.
The fourth weekly frequency launched this winter between Paris-Orly and Annecy will be continued.
Finally, concerning inter-regional routes, the Nice - Nantes service will be modified with a morning departure from Nantes and the introduction of a larger aircraft operating two daily flights.
