CIT Announces New Airbus Long-Range and Single-Aisle Aircraft Order
FARNBOROUGH, England and NEW YORK, July -- CIT Group Inc., a leading global provider of commercial and consumer finance solutions, today announced that CIT Aerospace, a business unit of CIT, signed a purchase agreement with aircraft manufacturer Airbus for new aircraft.
Under the terms of the agreement, CIT will acquire five additional A330- 200 twin-engine wide body aircraft. CIT also exercised options to purchase an additional four A320 Family single-aisle aircraft. The total dollar value of the aircraft order is approximately $1 billion, based on Airbus' current list prices.
Boeing and Futura Sign Order for Up to Six Next-Generation 737s
FARNBOROUGH, England, July, 2006 - The Boeing Company and Futura International Airways, a charter airline headquartered in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, today announced an order for three Boeing Next-Generation 737-800s and three purchase rights. The order for three airplanes is valued at approximately $210 million at list prices. The new airplanes, scheduled for delivery in 2009 and 2010, are for fleet growth.

International visitation to US continues its upward course
The U.S. Department of Commerce said that 3.9 million international visitors traveled to the United States in April 2006, an increase of 22 percent over April 2005. The double-digit growth compensates for the March decline in arrivals, likely due to the seasonal shift in the Easter holiday period from March in 2005 to April in 2006. In addition, visitation to the United States for the first fourth months of 2006 is up 6 percent compared to 2005.
