03 February 2010 – The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is delighted to announce the appointment of Melanie Jones to the position of Manager, Tourism Business, Northern & Western Europe. Melanie will be based at the London office and will be responsible for overseeing consumer marketing and communications, including STB London’s PR agency, Hume Whitehead. Melanie joins the Singapore Tourism Board with a wealth of experience in travel and tourism, having previously worked for clients including Las Vegas, Colorado, Nevada and luxury tour operator Elegant Resorts.
Melanie’s appointment coincides with an internal appointment, as Lisa Tang takes on responsibility for travel trade matters, as Assistant Manager, Tourism Business, Northern & Western Europe. Having been with the Singapore Tourism Board for over four years, Lisa brings a strong level of product knowledge to the role and looks forward to new challenges ahead.
Eunice Yeo, Area Director for Northern & Western Europe, says “2010 promises to be a very exciting year for Singapore, with the opening of two integrated resorts: Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa, plus the inaugural Youth Olympic Games, so we are delighted to have Melanie onboard and look forward to a very successful partnership. Lisa is already a well-known face at STB and we are thrilled that she has taken up the challenge of this new role. With so many new and exciting developments, now is the perfect opportunity for visitors to rediscover Singapore and see for themselves what makes our destination so special.”
