State Duma has simplified the procedure of visiting Russia for foreigners

On February 19, 2010 State Duma passed the bill, which simplifies the procedure of getting Russian visa for the foreigners.
According to the document approved by the Duma, the foreigners will be able to get visas on the basis of written request of one of the spouses or parents who are the citizens of Russia.
The Head of the State Duma’s Committee for Constitutional Legislation and State Construction Vladimir Pligin said that such procedure of entry for the foreign citizens “was actually equated with general rules of entry”. It complicated the whole process and led to the numerous complaints.
