Travel Events in Kazakhstan

By Freesun News at 15 June, 2010, 10:58 am

  • Astana Leisure, taking place on 28-30 September 2010 in Astana
  • KITF, taking place on 20-22 April 2011 in Almaty

Both exhibitions are organised in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism & Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Astana Leisure brings together 60 companies and 5,000 trade visitors. This year will be the 7th edition of the event. Since becoming Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana has become a major business hub and the country’s political centre, generating over $5 billion of investments.

KITF is Kazakhstan’s largest international travel and tourism exhibition, featuring 500 companies from 36 countries. Over ten years, the event has seen enormous growth and now welcomes an impressive 20,000 visitors. It takes place in Kazakhstan’s commercial centre, Almaty.

More about Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan is the ninth largest country in the world. According to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Tourism & Sports, outbound tourism increased by 23% in 2009 – generating a total of 3,687,000 Kazakh tourists. A Euromonitor report indicated the country has seen the emergence of an affluent middle class who are keen to travel out of the country, especially during the winter season. Online bookings are growing in Kazakhstan, particularly in its main cities of Almaty and Astana. In fact, online transactions for air travel are forecasted to record double-digit annual growth to 2013.
